Day 1: Arrival and the Comis Hotel & Golf Resort
On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Comis Hotel & Golf Resort. Depending on your arrival time, there is no need to wait until day two to get started, as the course is right on your doorstep and an afternoon round is a fine way to shake off a journey (this can be arranged in advance to make it part of your first day).

The Comis course is an 18-hole championship layout set within a 200-acre resort, making skilful use of the Manx countryside with its hedging, streams and lakes. Measuring 6,361 yards from the back tees and playing to a par of 71, it is arranged in two loops and includes rolling hills and generous fairways throughout. Variable teeing allows the course to be played at a shorter length, giving middle and high handicap golfers a fairer challenge. There is a covered driving range and a pro shop offering indoor video swing analysis, and buggies are available to hire.

If arriving later in the day, perhaps spend time exploring nearby Douglas (10-15 mins away by car), where you will find a good selection of restaurants and bars and a beautiful promenade to walk along.

Day 2: Castletown Golf LinksTransfer south to Castletown, the jewel in the island’s golfing crown. Set on the dramatic Langness Peninsula with the Irish Sea on three sides, Castletown Golf Links is a genuine championship links course offering classic windswept, fast running links play.

Golf has been played here since 1892. At 6,707 yards and par 72 it is a serious test from the back tees, though the yellow society tees give the club golfer every chance to play well. The greens are small and guarded more by traditional links humps and hollows than by heavy bunkering, and there are just three short holes.

After your round, you may wish to take a short walk into the town centre to see Castle Rushen before you are transferred back to your hotel.

Day 3: Peel Golf ClubTravel west to Peel, one of the island’s most atmospheric towns. Peel Golf Club sits on elevated ground just east of the town with sweeping views across the west coast. It is a very different test from Castletown, with tighter fairways, many holes cut through pine plantations and a full range of natural hazards including streams, turf banks and gorse.

The course measures 5,874 yards from the white tees (5,680 yards from the yellows) and plays to a par of 69. Local golfers value Peel for its immaculate condition, and in summer the greens can be very quick, so a careful touch with the putter pays off. The clubhouse bar is a comfortable place for food and a drink after your round.

Peel itself is a fine place to spend an afternoon. See the ruins of Peel Castle and the town’s working harbour, and take your pick of the independent pubs and cafés for a late lunch or dinner. Later, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 4: DepartureFor those with afternoon and evening sailings, there may be time for a final round at the Comis. Alternatively, make use of the covered driving range, or simply relax by the hotel’s pool. After checking out, you will be transferred to the port for your onward journey.
