The communal area of the camp includes Lemur Lodge where you can chat with other guests or simply chill out, plus you’ll have access to BBQ areas should you fancy cooking alfresco. There is also a restaurant within the grounds of the zoo and a café can be found within the visitor centre, should you not want to cater for yourself or drive too far away for dinner.
Each glamping pod is comprised of an aluminium frame covered with a heavyweight insulated canvas ‘skin’ and is set on a large wooden platform with landscaping and positioning that ensures privacy. The pod can sleep up to two adults and two children on real beds with luxury linen, with an additional tipi (wigwam style mini pod) available to book for two extra children.
Each cosy pod comes equipped with its own wood-burning stove along with a free bag of logs, free unlimited WiFi, electricity outlets for charging phones etc, a two ring hob, toaster, cool box, crockery, cutlery, bedding and a bath towel per person. On your private deck, there is a separate pod with a fully flushing toilet and hot shower, so there’s no queuing or sharing washroom facilities here! The deck also has alfresco dining furniture and two sun loungers.
There are no televisions in the pod, as this really is all about getting back to nature and enjoying the sights and sounds that the zoo has to offer. After all, how often do you get to wake up to the sounds of lemurs, orang-utans and flamingos!
