Comprised of an original 18th century house along with modern wings, La Fregate enjoys an island wide reputation for its food, with a mention in the Good Food Guide and are also Michelin Recommended. The chef endeavours to use local produce, and being surrounded by water, there’s always an abundance of seafood. In the summer months there is a delightful terrace where you can sip an aperitif, tuck into a light lunch or simply while away the afternoon.
With just 22 rooms, those in the original house are full of character whilst the new wing rooms showcase a more modern approach with some having a balcony or terrace from which to take in Guernsey’s early morning sun. Standard rooms, which are in the hotel’s main section, enjoy great views and are decorated in subtle shades of beige with aqua or peach. There is a choice of queen or twin beds as well as an ensuite bathroom, HD television, bathrobes, telephone, hairdryer, iPod dock, tea & coffee making facilities, trouser press and complimentary WiFi.
Also in the original part of the hotel are the upgraded bay view rooms which along with a greater degree of space, most have a balcony for you to really make the most of those commanding views. New wing deluxe rooms are generously proportioned and most, but not all, have a balcony or terrace for taking in the stunning vistas. For those travelling solo, single rooms also provide great views and plenty of light, while families are also welcome and can be accommodated in either the bay view or deluxe rooms.
