Perched in the southeast corner of Jersey, Grouville Bay provides fresh seafood, historical architecture and outdoor activities.
The bay is an iconic beach area and one of the island’s most popular coastal spots. Whether it’s a solo escape, romantic retreat or family holiday, Grouville has something for everyone.
The beach is popular with tourists due to its broad sands and warm shallow waters. The beach runs along Gorey Harbour up to the Royal Jersey Golf Club and beyond to La Rocque. Plenty of sandy stretches means visitors can enjoy beach walks, explore rock pools and blissfully bask in the sun. The calm waters make watersports like kayaking and paddleboarding great activities. In season, waterskiing, wakeboarding and jet skiing are also popular.
Grouville Bay sits on the Jersey Tidal Trail which loops around the entire island. The Grouville section of the trail is perfect for families and casual walkers with some sandy and rocky stretches. Highlights of the Grouville section include views of Mont Orgueil Castle and the fishing boats and yachts in Gorey Harbour.
Transport
Grouville Bay is well-served by local buses, and there’s limited parking along the promenade, so plan early if driving. LibertyBus links Jersey’s main locations. You can buy tickets as you board the bus or purchase and download tickets in advance of travel using the LibertyBus mobile app. You can also buy a multi-day or family pass, which gives you the freedom to explore the island your way during your stay. You can collect a free bus timetable at Liberation Station.
