Beaches in Jersey

In Jersey, you’re never more than ten minutes from the sea. From the golden sandy bays of the south, the Atlantic waves of the west coast and the sheltered coves and hidden rock pooling spots of the north and east, Jersey’s beaches are your playground to explore. The island’s personality changes from coast to coast, so grab your beach gear and find yourself an ideal spot to revitalise and recharge. Here's a few of our favourite sandy spots where you can top up on vitamin sea during your island break!

St Aubin's Bay

St Aubin's Bay

St Aubin’s Bay sprawls over the central part of Jersey’s southern coast. Explore a vast expanse of sandy beach spanning from St Helier to St Aubin’s Village. As the bay faces south, you can laze in the sunshine from dawn to dusk or take a stroll and feel the loose, golden sand beneath your feet.
Grouville Bay

Grouville Bay

The Royal Bay of Grouville, known to locals as Long Beach, has a long stretch of soft golden sand with calm sheltered waters perfect for swimming. You can enjoy water skiing, wakeboarding, banana boat rides and even hire a motor dinghy in summer. Young families will love this friendly beach nestled near the sleepy Gorey Village.
St Ouen’s Beach

St Ouen’s Beach

With its sun kissed headland and soft sandy beaches, Jersey’s western shoreline offers up some of the island’s most magical locations. St Ouen’s Bay's expansive golden sands is one of Jersey’s most iconic beaches whilst also a spiritual home for Jersey surfers and thrill seekers, thanks to the rolling waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Surf schools are scattered along the beach so anyone can try their hand at riding the waves, even if its only on a bodyboard! Corbiere Lighthouse stands at the far end of the bay and at low tide can be accessed via a causeway. Treat yourself with the award-winning cuisine at the Ocean Restaurant at The Atlantic Hotel which showcases modern British cooking in a classic setting with the emphasis on fresh Jersey produce.
Bonne Nuit Bay

Bonne Nuit Bay

Bonne Nuit Bay is a small natural harbour nestled in the north coast and sheltered by the cliffs towering above it. At low tide, a small sandy beach appears below the pebbles, a perfect spot to build sandcastles, make some beach art or feast on a picnic.
Fliquet Bay

Fliquet Bay

Just above St Catherine’s Breakwater, Fliquet Bay has a sheltered position and is a lovely place to sit and soak up the views. On a clear day you can even see France.
Rozel Bay

Rozel Bay

This beautiful fishing port nestles in Jersey’s north-east and is sheltered by green rolling hills. At low tide a small expanse of beautiful white sand is revealed with tiny fishing boats stranded on it’s banks. Many are drawn to this blissful scene to pass a quiet afternoon over cloudless views of the French coast.
Greve de Lecq Beach

Greve de Lecq Beach

This sheltered north facing beach is fringed with wooded slopes and leafy country pubs. It's a firm favourite with families, haveing rocks to climb, pools to seek out critters, a sea that’s never too far out even at a low tide and lifeguards during the summer months. All in all this beach is a winner.
Les Ecrehous

Les Ecrehous

Take a RIB-roaring boat trip - Join an awesome skipper and crew for fantastic trip to the Ecrehous, a group of islands located 6 miles north east of Jersey, and only 8 miles off the coast of France. This popular seafair showcases these remote islands which have amazing sandbanks and rock pools to explore at low tide, however on the high tide the old fisherman's huts feel vulnerable to the surrounding sea. The area provides perfect opportunities for unique photos, swimming, paddle-boarding and picnics. Along the way you may spot a variety of birdlife, Atlantic Grey Seals and, if you are lucky, bottlenose dolphins.
Plémont Bay

Plémont Bay

This sandy cove on the north-west tip of the island has to be one of Jersey’s most beautiful beaches. Flanked by soaring cliffs, the sands are washed by a gentle surf while low tide reveals rock pools, fascinating sea caves, and even a fresh water waterfall. Be sure to discover Plémont's natural drama and enchanting beauty during your stay.
St Brelade's Beach

St Brelade's Beach

This beautiful Jersey beach is one of the island’s most popular, loved by visitors for its golden sand and safe swimming. If you’re visiting the island, you’ll find plenty to do at St Brelade’s beach including family friendly activities, watersports, beach cafés and seaside restaurants, beach walks and plenty of sunbathing spots. If the family is craving adventure, kayaks can be hired to discover secluded beaches, bays, coves and caves, all whilst having a splashing good time. On the other hand, sophistication is not far away with the indulgent afternoon tea at the L'Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa.
Portelet Bay

Portelet Bay

Getting to Portelet Bay is an adventure in itself. Those brave enough to take the steep descent down the steps from the cliff to this western beach can enjoy a bracing swim in the crystal clear water. Like St Aubin’s Bay, Portelet faces south so you can bask in the sun’s rays throughout the day.
Havre des Pas

Havre des Pas

Only a short stroll from the centre of St Helier, this sheltered south facing beach is drenched with Jersey sunshine and skirted with beautiful art deco-style boardwalks. A prominent feature of the bay is its Lido, an ideal spot for a dip.
